Men’s Shelter

Part of the local Housing First Approach

St. Vincent Place Men’s Shelter consists of 14 emergency beds and 9 room-and-board beds.

Our shelter is the first point of entry for any male 18+ years of age who is homeless in Sault Ste. Marie., giving them a chance to get back on their feet. Residents are provided with 3 home-cooked meals a day, dorm-style rooms, laundry facilities, and basic life needs. Our 9 room-and-board beds help residents who require additional supports in transitioning to living independently in our community.

St. Vincent Place Shelter Staff

Our staff is available to assist our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide support and make appropriate referrals to other community agencies and/or organizations. We assist in facilitating the clients’ transition from the shelter into the community, and ensuring supports are in place as needed.

Transferable Skills Development

Clients who enter the shelter system are encouraged to build life skills to help them gain employment, improve their daily living, and transition back into the community. Transferable skills development provides a range of services, as well as referrals, based on individual needs that focus on assisting and supporting our clients to stabilized housing.
