Join Our Board

St. Vincent Place is seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors for a three-year term, with the opportunity to serve additional terms.

At this time, St. Vincent Place is particularly seeking individuals with experience in finance and accounting.

As a charitable organization, strong financial oversight and stewardship are essential to our mission. We are looking for someone who can bring financial knowledge and sound judgment to Board discussions, financial oversight, budgeting, planning, and decision-making. Experience in areas such as accounting, financial management, budgeting, audit, financial reporting, or not-for-profit financial oversight would be especially valuable.

While finance and accounting is our current priority, we also welcome applications from individuals with experience or knowledge in: law; social and community service; business; human resources; marketing and communications; advocacy and community engagement; governance and strategic planning; other professional, community, or lived experiences that can contribute to the Board

We are not looking for a particular “type” of Board member. We are looking for individuals who bring different perspectives, experiences, skills, and ideas to help St. Vincent Place continue to serve our community effectively.

Committee participation and volunteering with St. Vincent Place programs are encouraged. We recognize that people contribute in different ways and have different availability. What matters most is a commitment to our mission and a willingness to contribute your knowledge, perspective, and time to the Board.

If you are interested in helping shape the future of St. Vincent Place and supporting the important work we do in our community, we would love to hear from you. Please submit an expression of interest or cover letter and resume by September 20 to: Susan George, St. Vincent Place Board Chair, at board@vincentplacessm.ca

Please indicate in your expression of interest why you would like to serve on the St. Vincent Place Board and what skills, experience, or perspective you feel you could contribute.

St. Vincent Place is an equal opportunity organization committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment. We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives and are committed to providing accommodations throughout the recruitment process upon request.
