Vaudry's book, Kindness is Sault Ste. Marie, is about the power of Kindness and the ways it can make a positive difference in a person’s life, based on Vaudry’s own personal experiences.
“I was becoming concerned about the growing frequency of public and online displays of angry and resentment-laden behaviour. I wanted to encourage people to be proactive about protecting our community from the corrosive potential of such behaviour,” Vaudry said.
Let’s not take this special feature of our community for granted. The forces of change in the world today are unprecedented in their reach and power. Cherished social values, like Kindness and respect, can be easily eroded, bit by bit.
We need to be proactive in countering disrespectful behaviour. We need to get the message out that choosing Kindness is the better way, the Sault way.
“My aim in writing this book is to make evident that acting with kindness is something Saultites have always done, that is still present and thriving in the youth of today, and most importantly, that it is something to be cherished and protected.”
