Join Our Board of Directors!

The St. Vincent Place Board of Directors is currently seeking new members for a three-year term, with the option of remaining for additional terms. Although the Board welcomes applications from all interested parties, we are particularly hoping to hear from those with experience in law, local social and community services, business and human resources, marketing, and advocacy.

The Board meets 11 times per year (10 regular meetings and the Annual Meeting – no meetings are held in July or August). The Board also prefers that all members sit on at least one sub-committee. Members of the St. Vincent Place board of directors are expected to be committed to the organization’s mission and vision, offer their expertise to inform Board discussions and decisions, attend meetings prepared with information provided in advance, and abide by the organization’s policies (specifically, but not limited to, confidentiality and conflict of interest).

If you have an interest in serving on St. Vincent Place’s Board of Directors, please submit your expression of interest/cover letter and resume by April 15, 2024 via email to boardofdirectors@vincentplacessm.ca, Attention: Board Chair.

St. Vincent Place is an equal opportunity organization with the ability to accommodate needs as requested throughout the recruitment process.

About St. Vincent Place

With an amazing team of staff and volunteers, each year SVP serves over 15,000 fresh meals, distributes over 3,500 food bank packages, and provides the necessities for over 52,000 school lunches, all directly to those in need in our community. This work is fully funded by donations from the community and revenue generated by our thrift store.

St. Vincent Place is accountable to a Board of Directors of up to 13 volunteer members, drawn widely to achieve a broad but balanced skill set of expertise and diverse representation of the profile of the Algoma District. The organization is guided by a multi-year Strategic Plan focused on promoting leadership in compassion, capacity-building, caring for the caregivers, and of course, comforting those we serve.
