Volunteer Recognition – Yola Bonin

This month we recognize the amazing Yola Bonin. At 96 years young, Yola remains an active member of the community, helping several organizations including Women in Crisis and Christmas Cheer. She also enjoys helping at the raffle table at the St Gregory’s bake sales.

Here at St. Vincent Place, Yola joined the Soup Kitchen team CSJ Associates with her daughter, Emma. She bakes 7-8 dozen cookies every Saturday that their team serves lunch. No surprise that she wants to make sure all our clients get fed – she’s described by her team mates as “a typical Italian mom – manga manga!”

Born in Sault Ste. Marie to Emma and Anthony DiGasparro, Yola has been an active, contributing member of the Sault for years. She is a loyal fan of the Sault Greyhounds and loves to play bingo.

Nominated to be recognized by CSJ Associates team lead Shirley Kindred, Yola is a fantastic behind-the-scenes volunteer at St. Vincent Place that can be counted on to help out. Her team describes her as “delightful, independent, and very compassionate and caring.”

Thanks for all you do for the Sault, Yola!
